Welcome to St. Oswald's Worleston CE Primary School
Firstly may I warmly welcome you and encourage you to read on about our lovely school family.
St. Oswald's Worleson CE Primary School is a traditional church school set in the heart of rural Cheshire just North of Nantwich. St. Oswald's school was first built in 1887 during the Victorian Era and serves the local rural community with roughly 120 children attending the school at present. Our small school has its own Nursery and takes children from the age of 2 years old right through to the end of their Primary School journey. There is a dedicated Nursery setting and Reception Class and then children are educated in mixed age group classes with relatively small class sizes. Ours school mantra is 'We are a caring Christian family where we grow together'. This care and nurture of all members of our community is something that is lived out every day at our school. Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged in order to see, first hand, the learning going on both inside and outside the classroom environment.
My staff and I ensure that the curriculum is vast, exciting and invigorates any learner whilst being underpinned by our connected approach to learning. Time is taken for all the children to be valued and nurtured educationally, creatively and spiritually. We have good links with our Church, St. Oswald’s, and we enjoy a shared partnership with the whole church and surrounding community.
I strive for my pupils and staff to aim high and believe in themselves, ensuring that they 'let their light shine' within our caring Christian family.
I look forward to welcoming you and your children to our school.

'A caring Christian Family where we grow together.'
'Let your Light Shine' Matthew 5V16
At the heart of everything is a personalised approach to each unique individual as part of our Christian Community. The strong family ethos ensures that all children and staff feel valued, respected and grow in self-confidence. Enthusiastic and caring staff with high expectations, demonstrate care of the whole child. Through God’s guidance we encourage each and every child to let their light shine.
St. Oswald’s Worleston is a happy and successful rural village school where children, adults and the wider community learn together in a caring Christian family. Our mission is to nurture the unique potential of every child through our Christian values. Our school vision, written by our pupils, is to be 'a caring Christian family where we grow together'.
We are justifiably proud of our high academic standards, achieved because of our small class sizes and committed teaching staff who know and value our children as individuals. Every decision we make centres around what is best for our pupils.
We passionately believe that “educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” (Aristotle), and that “education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire” (W.B. Yeats). We seek to educate the whole child through a structured thematic curriculum approach supported by an extensive range of deep enrichment activities. We regularly share our work with parents and the community through our termly exhibitions, when work from every pupil is proudly displayed for all to see.
We highly value our family atmosphere and all work hard together to ensure that every person in our 'family' is happy, engaged and involved in all aspects of school life.
St Oswald’s is housed in a wonderful Victorian building which has been updated and modified to meet the needs of the modern curriculum. The accommodation comprises a recently built and spacious classroom over looking our playing field, a further two classrooms which are linked through our hall to the Nursery. A dedicated Foundation Stage area houses our children from two years old to five years old. Outside the school has a large playground, a spacious field with wildlife areas and an extensive area of fixed, large play equipment.
The school sits just over the road from St. Oswald’s Church, with which we have close links. Our children join the village community regularly in celebration and worship. We hold half termly Celebration Services in church in addition to services which mark major events in the Christian calendar, including Harvest, Christmas and Easter.
Please come to visit our wonderful school to see for yourself and join the St Oswald's family!
